This dog arrived just this morning - given up by the owners.  Actually, the original family brought Blackie back to Virginia and left her with their elderly parents who became unable to care for her.  She is about 1 to 1 1/2 years old, spayed.  I think she may be a Flat Coated Retriever.  She is playful, non-aggressive with cats and other dogs.  I was told that she loves to go for rides in the car.

Update 9/15/03
Blackie is going to be transferred to a rescue in eastern Virginia where
she will  have a chance at being adopted sooner.

Update 11/12/02 - Blackie has a new name - Ebby, and has a loving home.
