Sugar's Story

Dec. 16, 2000  Approx. 5 mos. old female, rescued from the pound.  She was one of a litter of 5 puppies.  Homes were found for 4 of them, but Sugar's last chance for adoption was at the county pound for 5 days.  I went to get her the morning she was scheduled to be put down.  Personnel at the pound were told that Sugar's mother was Chihuahua and the father was a Pug.  She is larger than the small Chihuahua most of us are familiar with, weighing about 12 pounds.  She is short-haired with a beautiful fawn-colored shiny coat and a dark mask on her face.

Sugar was in foster care for over five months before we found her "forever home".  She was spayed and given her vaccinations.  She was good with the other dogs and cats, a real delight to have in the home.

Sugar is adopted!  -  May 12, 2001

Sugar left today with her new family - the Poore family who reside in central Georgia..  They met for the first time on the lawn area of a Hardee's Restaurant in Duffield,Virginia.  The future looks bright for Sugar - a loving home of her own, a fenced yard to run in, with a definite plus - young girls to play with her!
