Skippy

Arrived at rescue 3/31/05
This Maltese charmer was turned into the pound by his owners who said "he requires too much grooming". Skippy is about two years old, weighs 12 pounds. He needs grooming, so check back for pictures after this is done - may be a few days.
He seems to be a happy little fellow, especially to get out of the pound. So far there have been no "accidents" in the house, so I think Skippy is housebroken. He gets along with other dogs and cats.
Skippy is active and his favorite trick for attention is to jump straight up.
He has been neutered and will be up to date on his vaccinations before adoption. Next week he will make a visit to the vet for a heartworm test so that he can be started on preventative.
Skippy is not yet available - will probably be at least two weeks. His vetting must be completed and I need some time to get to know him so that I have an idea of what he needs in his new home.

Update: April 9: Skippy got a bath today! He had some bad mats close to his skin, so I did have to thin some of his coat. Skippy is a good boy for his bath and patient while he is being combed out.

April 12: Skippy went to the vet today for his heartworm test - Negative. So now he can start his heartworm preventative meds. He seems to enjoy car rides, and he explored the entire car during the trip. :)
