Rusty was a stray in a neighborhood for a couple of weeks.  He kept returning to one young woman's home and she began feeding him and let him stay.  She checked local bulletin boards, inquired from neighbors, and looked for ads in the newspaper.  But it seemed that no one knew who this dog belonged to, nor did it seem that anyone was looking for him.  The woman's sister was moving back to the area and planned to keep Rusty, but when she found a place of her own to move to, they did not allow dogs.  So they asked me to take Rusty and find him a good home.  He is a very calm dog, seems to be housetrained, good with other dogs, cats, and children.

Rusty was checked by my vet yesterday and received his Rabies vaccination and a Bordatella immunization so that he can go next week to be neutered.  He weighs 17 lbs., has a beautiful red coat w/ a lighter red and almost white around his face, legs, and tail and gold eyes.  Breed?  My best guess is Sheltie and Pom mix.

Rusty has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccinations.  He tested negative for heartworms.  (1/26/05)

Update:  May 17, 2005 - Rusty has a home!  He is going to Cherryville, N.C.
