Peaches

Peaches is being temporarily fostered by the woman that rescued her.   This tiny 8 1/2 pound dog was being kept on a heavy chain.  Someone visiting the home was told that the owners no longer wanted Peaches and if they did not find a home for her that they intended to take her to the pound this week.  The visitor contacted rescue and they agreed to find a spot for Peaches.  The owners relinquished Peaches to rescue.  They said she is between 1 and 2 years old.

Peaches may have been in heat and recently bred while on the chain.   She will be taken in this week to be spayed, get tested for heartworm, etc.

Her foster mom says that she is very sweet, but also very scared.  It is obvious that this dog has been in a very neglectful situation. 

Peaches will not be available for several weeks.  Time is needed to get her surgery, vaccinations, wormed, etc.  We also need time to evaluate her disposition so that we have some idea of what her needs are in her new home.

She looks like a Dachshund mix, possibly long-haired Dach.
