Lucky

|
| Poor Lucky in the pound. His owner turned him in
because of "allergies". The owner wrote some comments about him on the
shelter intake form, saying "wonderful animal, housebroken and makes a wonderful pet
and companion, whoever adopts him will be very fortunate, he is very loving."
However, he did not tell us the dog's name. We have named him "Lucky"
because rescue pulled him from the shelter on his last day. The owner probably told
himself that Lucky would get adopted.....but he did NOT get adopted at the shelter and if
he had not come to rescue, he would have been killed on Jan. 6, 2005. Lucky weighs about 35 pounds and has a beautiful grey and white coat, actually looks silver. Age: 2 1/2 years. His breed was not noted at the shelter, but a volunteer referred to him as a "sheep dog wannabe". He was listed at the shelter as a Tibetan Terrier mix. HOWEVER - see update below. |

| Lucky has been brushed and some of the mats trimmed away and some from his face. He still needs a more professional grooming to be at his best. He does very well on a leash and seems to get along with other dogs. I do not know about cats yet. | |
Lucky has already been neutered and will be up to date on all vaccinations before being adopted. He will be seeing my vet next week.
Adoption fee: $125.00
FEB. 26, 2005: A breeder of Labradoodles (Poodle/Lab cross) phoned me and said that she thinks that Lucky is a Labradoodle - White Poodle and Black Lab.
Update 4/11/05.....Lucky has been adopted! He is going to a home situated on 10 acres in Pinnacle, N.C. with one acre of it fenced for the dogs. Lucky loves the company of other dogs and room to run and play. His new mom and dad are retired (attorney and policeman) and are home most of the time. There are three older dogs, Chow mix age 13, Medium size Terrier mix age 9, German Shepherd mix age 9 1/2. Recently they adopted from a humane society a female Bearded Collie mix about one year old - Catie. She is active like Lucky and the other dogs are older and not interested in playing. They felt that Catie needed a younger more playful companion. All of their dogs are indoor companions, free to go and come to the fenced yard as they wish.
